Nakshatra and Aksharas

Kaal Sarp Yog

Kaal Sarp Yog?

Kaal Sarp Yog and Kaal Sarp Dosh are one and the same thing. Kaal sarp yog is formed when in an horoscope, all the seven planets comes between or hemmed between rahu and ketu. Rahu is considered serpent’s head and ketu is dragon’s tail. So the presence of kaal sarp yoga in a horoscope is considered particularly harmful as all the planets are surrounded by the serpent and thus loose their good impacts to a great extent which will make person less lucky, creates problems and delays in many important aspects of life.

When all the seven planets are on the same side of rahu and ketu axis and not a single planet is on the other side, the full kaal-sarp dosha is formed.

If even a single plane is on the other side of this axis, then it is not a kaal sarp yog. In this case, Partial kaal sarp

yoga
is formed which is a kaal sarpa yog of less intensity.

Is it always bad:
Having kal sarp yoga in horoscope doesn’t mean that person will be totally unlucky and devoid of all the good things of life. The overall result differs from person to person and it depends on other yogas in the particular horoscope. For example, if a person is having strong Raj yogas present or having four planets dig-bali or having two to three escalated or swagrehi planets in horoscope alongwith kaal sarp dosha, then the results of kaal sarp yoga will be minimized in this case by the strong good planets or yoga and major ill impacts will only be applicable in the major/minor period of rahu/ketu.

General Impacts of Kaal Sarp Dosha:

The general impacts of kaal sarp dosha are following:

1. Problems and breaks in important and auspicious work.
2. Low Mental peace
3. Low self-confidence
4. Deterioration of health and reduces longevity
5. Poverty and destruction of wealth.
6. Destruction of business and loss of job
7. Anxiety and unnecessary Tensions
8. Bad Relations with family members and friends
9. Treachery from friends and colleagues
10. Very less help from relatives and friends

The effects of Kaal Sarp Dosh may differ and the persons having Kaal Sarp Dosh in their horoscope may suffer accordingly. For example, a person may suffer with delayed marriage or disturbance in married life due to the presence of Kaal Sarp Dosh in his horoscope, whereas some other person may feel obstacles in his professional life due to the presence of Kaal Sarp Dosh in his horoscope, someone else may get some serious disease or diseases due to presence of Kaal Sarp Dosh in his horoscope and someone may not be having a child due to the presence of Kaal Sarp Dosh in his horoscope. Sade Sati

What is Sade Sati?
Sade sati is a transition phenomenon of Saturn. According to Indian Vedic Astrology it through twelfth, first and second house from the natal moon of birth chart, the period is termed as sade sati.
Saturn takes two and half years to transit from one house to another house so the transit of Saturn or Shani through these three house takes seven and half year which is a literal meaning of shani sade sati.
Obviously this period of Saturns transit have Three Phases as follows
First Phase of Saturns Sade Sati - Period when the Saturn is transiting over the 12th House of your Moon Chart
Second Phase of Saturn Sade Sati - Period when the Saturn is transiting over the 1st House of your Moon Chart i.e. over the house where your natal Moon is located
Third Phase of the Saturn Sade Sati - Period when the Saturn is transiting over the 2nd House of your Moon Chart.
Apart from this when the Saturn is transiting over the 4th and the 8th house of your Moon Chart, this period is known as DHAIYA of the Saturn.

What is Dhayia?
There are some other similar aspects of the planet also as it leaves similar impacts when it enters the fourth and eighth house but they are comparatively less effective. The residing of Saturn in each sign is known as Panoti, Dhayia or Adhayaia among the masses. The Dhayia of 12th, 1st and 2nd house is most prominently known among the folks since ages and has a dominating role in astrology.
Nature of Shani
Shani is extreme in its nature. If it is favourble, then it can do miracles for the native, but if unhappy, then there will be disaster everywhere. If someone is bestowed with the blessings of Lord Shani, he will be scholar, sensible, honest, patient and hard worker. But if he is not favoured by Lord Shani, then no one can imagine, what is going to happen with him.

Saturn is the cold, stern planet, famously known as a tough taskmaster. It causes delays, gloom and frustration wherever it goes. Sade sati is the time when our Janmarashi comes under the influence of Saturn. Saturn transits through each zodiac or Rashi, in two and a half years. Sade sati is the time when Saturn is transiting through the sign previous to the Janmarashi (two and half years), in the Janmarashi itself (again two and a half years) and the sign next to Janmarashi (again two and half years making it a course of 7 and half years in total). Saturn`s transit in each Rashi is known as Dhaiyya.

Many believe that Sade Sati is the debt of karma, which each individual has to pay in his life. Still, astrologers suggest certain remedies to lessen the ill effects of Sade sati. Visiting Hanuman temple, to offer tribute to deity who won over Shanidev is one such popular one. Charity of black udad and oil is also a widespread action to pacify Saturn.

Sade sati is the astrological phenomenon during which the effects are felt by the individual and his/ her relatives. It is not a phase to be scared of. The biggest advantage of Sade sati is that it teaches us important lessons in life which if learnt properly makes up the basic foundation of every success and achievement, we make henceforth. Laziness and wrong attitude has to be discarded as the repeated failures teach us. The unwanted and unnecessary things are discarded. It is also the time to take a detachment from materialistic success and failures, instead of fretting over them. Sade sati gives perfect opportunity to be in touch with our spiritual self. In the long run, any person who value higher learning in life and accomplishments obtained after a series of trials will think that the existence of Sade Sati has made his life more meaningful

Medical Astrology

What is Vedic Medical Astrology?

Medical Astrology is a branch of Vedic Astrology. It deals with the medical aspect (health prospects) of astrology, that is, a Vedic horoscope is drawn by the Vedic Medical Astrologer, based on time, place, date of birth of the concerned person and then appropriate advice is given to cure the disease, the person is suffering from.

The roots of Ayurveda can be traced to Atharva Veda among the four Vedas. The measures and rites to treat diseases are dealt in both Atharva Veda and Ayurveda. In Atharva Veda, it sounds somewhat primitive, but Ayurveda strikes good by its logical approach to the cure of diseases. Jyotisha is one among the six limbs of Vedas. It is considered to be eye of the Vedas. A practitioner of Ayurveda is supposed to know the Vedangas for prognosis, selection of herbs, fix the appropriate time of treatment and finally to know the life span of the patient.

Ayurvedic Astrology:

The Seven planets correspond to the three Humours (Doshas) in Ayurveda—Vata (wind), Pitta (bile) and Kapha (phlegm).

In the Ayurvedic parlance, the ‘Seven Revolving Heavens’ are classified thus (“Vatam Pittayutha Karothi Dinakrith”):

Also, The seven planets correspond to the Seven Gross Tissue-Elements (Dhatus) thus:

Planets------------Doshas--------------------------Dhatus
Sun------------------Pitta----------------------------Bones
Moon----------------Vata & Kapha----------------------Blood
Mars----------------Pitta-----------------------------Bone Marrow
Mercury-----------Pitta, Vata & Kapha-----------------Skin
Jupiter---------------Kapha---------------------------Fat
Venus---------------Vata & Kapha----------------------Seminal Energy
Saturn---------------Vata-----------------------------Veins

According to the famous Ayurvedic sage Vagbhata :

Pitta has the characteristic of fire (pittam-vahnihi). Therefore, when the Sun or Mars becomes unfavourable, one suffers from diseases due to heat such as constipation, measles, ulcers, skin eruptions, small-pox, burning sensation, etc.

Unfavourable Moon and Venus produce diseases caused by water such as swellings in different parts of the body.

Mercury brings about diseases such as brain fever, typhoid, etc., due to the inflammation of all the three doshas.

Jupiter brings about deafness. If in the birth horoscope, any planet is functionally a great malefic, then, during the major, sub, sub-sub period of that planet, the respective disease would make its appearance.
